Finding Your Way to Alberton Church

While meeting on the Internet is fine, it would be even better if we could actually meet in person. Now Alberton is not an especially large place, so we will need to be fairly specific with our directions. You know what they say about blinking and missing someplace!

The first thing that we have to say is, whatever you do, don't get our Alberton mixed up with Alberton Township which is also in Ontario. Alberton Township is up near Rainey River and Fort Frances - so unless you are on your way to Duluth, Minnesota, via the Canadian route, you don't want to be anywhere near there. Our Alberton is near places like Hamilton, Ancaster and Dundas. So, with that possible confusion out of the way we can get on to some serious directions.

Google Maps We hate to admit that someone else's directions might be better than ours, but as they say in these times - Google it! Go into Google Maps and enter - "Wilson St and Alberton Rd, Alberton, ON". This will not only get you the exact location you want it will also inflate our ego just a bit. For the moment, at least, if you simply enter "Alberton, ON" into Google maps you get that other Alberton that we already told you about. However, for some reason, if you enter "Wilson St and Alberton Rd, Alberton, ON", as we suggested, Google not only takes you to the right place on the map it replaces the name Alberton with the name Hamilton and then indicates in brackets underneath that Hamilton is (near Alberton). Now, given the relative size of Alberton and Hamilton, that is about as big a boost as Alberton is ever going to get from Google.

Coming to Alberton from the Mountain in Hamilton? Take the Linc (Lincoln Alexander Parkway) west until it connects with the #403. Stay towards the left and follow the #403 west towards Brantford. Exit from the #403 at Wilson Street. Turn left onto Wilson Street and follow Wilson Street right into Alberton. (8.1 KM). When you get to Alberton Rd, turn right and the church, which is visible from Wilson Street, will be the first building on your left.

Coming to Alberton from the downtown area in Hamilton? Head toward the west end of the city on either King Street or Aberdeen Avenue until you reach the #403. Take the #403 west towards Ancaster. When you get to the top of the escarpment stay on #403 until you get to the Wilson Street exit. Exit from the #403 at Wilson Street. Turn left onto Wilson Street and follow Wilson Street right into Alberton. (8.1 KM). When you get to Alberton Rd, turn right and the church, which is visible from Wilson Street, will be the first building on your left.

Coming to Alberton from Brantford? You have two options. Option #1. Simply head east from Brantford on Highway #2. If you come down Highway #2 it becomes Wilson Street. When you get to Alberton turn left onto Alberton Road. The church, which is visible from Wilson Street, will be the first building on your left. Option #2 is to head east from Brantford on Highway #403. Exit from Highway #403 at Highway #52. Turn right on Highway #52. The first traffic signal you come to will be Wilson Street. Turn right onto Wilson Street and follow it 2.5 KM into Alberton. When you get to Alberton Rd, turn right and the church, which is visible from Wilson Street, will be the first building on your left.

We could go on and on with these travel directions but we think that you get the point. If in doubt check your route on Google maps and print yourself off a set of directions.

The important thing for you to understand is that we really do want you to come! We would love to have you join us for a Sunday service or some other activity that may be taking place at Alberton Presbyterian Church. In fact, we'll be watching for your arrival.
