The Life of Paul

Aside from Jesus Christ himself, the Apostle Paul is one of the most influential figures in the New Testament story. Although Paul was not one of Christ's original disciples he played crucial role in the first generation of the Christian Church. He recognized the importance of Christ's message for all people everywhere. He developed a theology and mission strategy which became a blueprint for the rapid expansion of the Christian community. As it happens, he was also the author of about one-quarter of the writings that became the New Testament.
The story of Paul's life is a very dramatic one. He started out as a vehement opponent who was committed to persecuting the followers of Jesus Christ. As a convert to the faith he was a tireless proclaimer of Jesus Christ who traveled the Mediterranean world to share the very faith that he had once opposed so vigorously.

In our "Something Extra" series in May of 2015 we spent five sessions reviewing Paul's life and contributions to the early church. Here are the study notes that were prepared to accompany this series. It is hoped that they might prove useful to anyone interested in learning more about the life of Paul.
